Is your rescue bursting at the seams? Running out of foster homes and volunteers? Cats Ahoy can help! We'll take cats from your rescue out on weekend adoption outings, increasing their chances of finding their new forever home. By taking cats out to events around the city in our customized van, many people can visit with your cats one after another, increasing each cats chances of being 'discovered' by their new family. Cats Ahoy uses a standardized adoption contract and price list to keep the adoption experience consistent for visitors, providing a smooth adoption process no matter what rescue is partcipating that day.

Our Process

How does it work? We work with local communities, businesses, and fairs to set up events that Cats Ahoy will attend. Once an event is confirmed, we contact our partner rescues and advise them on the dates and times, how many cats we can accept, and coordinate the receipt of the cats for the event. On location at the event we handle all the details... visiting with the cats, the adoption process, and receiving the adoption payment. Any cats not adopted are returned to their rescue at the end of the day. The adoption fees collected are totaled up for each rescue, and then the full adoption payment is returned to that rescue (less a service fee) by cheque within 3 weeks. We do collect a small service fee from each adoption which covers the van costs for the outing, however this fee is only charged for adopted cats... there is NO FEE or cost to a rescue for cats who are not adopted!
